Auditor role

The auditor role is an addition to the usual user roles and enables easy integration of quality management in Learning Management The auditor role is configured to enable viewing of the content and results but without the ability to change the course content. Auditors also cannot communicate with learners via comments/discussions.

This makes it easy for internal or external quality management officers (QMO) to visit and audit the courses in your online academy. External agents are often trained auditors (e.g. from TÜV). Internal officers are usually managers or employees from the Quality Management department. If these individuals are assigned only the auditor role, there is no danger of them accidentally changing the content while assessing the course.

Assigning this role is also useful when a business manager wishes to take a quick look at the content and participants of a course without directly participating in the learning process. This fully facilitates checks, audits and certifications. When the audit is complete, auditors can be deactivated quickly and easily. In the event of recurring audits, you can reinvite users without any particular effort.

Role assignment in a specific course

Auditors, like other roles, can be assigned to specific courses. Simply enroll the corresponding member in the course to be audited. Then click “...” > “Edit member” in the member overview of the course. On the following page, select "Auditor" under "Role in this course" and click "Save".

Assigning a role to participants and controlling profile visibility

The user now has read rights in the course, but cannot change any content or settings in the course, nor can they write comments. If you limit the profile visibility to "Selected staff" under "Edit member", the user remains "invisible" to students.
